Black Forest - Activities & Experiences
The Black Forest holiday region covers a total area of 11,100 square kilometers in southwest Germany. As the country's largest low mountain range, it offers a diverse range of natural landscapes: from elongated forested mountains in the north to wide meadow valleys in the central part to the treeless peaks that rise up to 1,493 meters in the southern Black Forest. The region is characterized by its uniqueness, pristine character, and a high level of experience.
The natural landscapes are as diverse as the opportunities they offer.
The Black Forest is a true paradise for hiking enthusiasts: It stretches over 160 kilometers in length and is up to 60 kilometers wide. Forests dominate the north, while in the south, you can enjoy distant views all the way to the Alps. Whether in spring, summer, autumn, or winter—hikes in the Black Forest holiday region are possible year-round.
