Black Forest Cottage Garden Meets English Garden Art

Nestled in a peaceful side valley of Nordrach in the Black Forest, at an altitude of 600 metres, lies the Moosbach Garden – a garden paradise where the tradition of the Black Forest cottage garden blends seamlessly with the charm of classic English garden artistry. Inspired by great garden designers, this is a place where nature, tranquillity, and pleasure come together in perfect harmony.

Throughout the garden season, twelve lovingly designed garden rooms unfold a magnificent variety of roses, perennials, shrubs, and trees. A colourful interplay that delights the senses and invites you to explore, unwind, and experience the soothing art of “forest and garden bathing”.

The gentle rustling of leaves, the soft trickling of the fountain, the chirping of crickets and joyful birdsong create a natural symphony. Just beyond the garden gate, the noise of everyday life fades away – and you step into a world filled with calm, inspiration, and restoration. “A moment for the senses” – slowing down becomes effortless.

An afternoon at the Moosbach Garden promises a delightful escape. Sunny and shaded spots invite you to relax, far from stress and distractions.

A special highlight is our garden picnic: your lovingly prepared picnic basket includes homemade delicacies from our kitchen – accompanied by refreshing drinks, wines, and cocktails. Glasses, cutlery, plates, and a cosy picnic blanket are all provided to make the experience complete.

To ensure tranquillity and exclusivity, daily access is limited to just 12 guests. For private groups or exclusive bookings, we are happy to open the garden for more visitors.

Reservations & Times

• Picnics are available daily between 12:00 pm and 6:00 pm
  (the garden closes at 6:00 pm).
• Reservations are required and should be made at least one day in advance via our picnic request form.
• Picnic baskets can be collected between 12:00 pm and 4:30 pm.

Our Picnic Offer (from 2 persons)

Your 2025 Picnic Basket includes:

• 0.5 l mineral water (still or sparkling), elderflower spritzer or blackcurrant spritzer
• 1 Pimm’s cocktail
• 1 wrap with homemade hummus & grilled chicken
• 1 summer sandwich with wholegrain bread, tomato, mozzarella, rocket & basil
• 1 tarte flambée stick
• Fresh fruit in a jar
• 1 berry muffin
• 1 chocolate brownie
• A picnic blanket, cutlery, and napkins are included.

A vegetarian option is available on request.

Good to Know

• Please inform us of any allergies – we are happy to accommodate them, if necessary for a small surcharge.
• Access to the garden is only possible with a picnic reservation.
• Bringing your own food and drinks is not permitted.
• If the weather is poor, your picnic may be postponed or cancelled free of charge until 8:00 pm the evening before.
• There is no covered alternative location inside the house.

Practical Information

• Our garden is a natural hillside garden and therefore not barrier-free. We recommend sturdy footwear.
• Out of consideration for our two Border Collies, Luna and Cooper, dogs are not permitted.

Children aged 12+ are welcome.
